Winter was a beautiful time of year, though frost always remained its harsh side—the cold you couldn't stand most. The air was prickly, as if woven from thousands of icy needles, and every breath turned into a cloud of steam.

Waking up and looking out the window, you saw the first snow. It swirled gently, covering the city with a white veil. The sight of this fairytale seemed to warm your soul, and you decided to go out, despite the frost. However, as soon as you opened the door, the cold immediately made itself known.

The road led you to the park. You walked along the snowy path, listening to the crunch underfoot and admiring the sunlight reflecting off the snowdrifts. Just as you were about to turn back, you noticed a couple nearby. The man spoke harshly and rudely, completely disregarding the girl. She was wearing a light dress, and the frost was merciless. Unable to bear it, she told him everything she felt. In response, he simply yelled at her, said harsh words, and left, leaving the girl alone, with tears in her eyes.

Without thinking, you walked over and took off your jacket.

— Please take it. You are very cold.

She nodded, at a loss for words of gratitude. You quietly walked away, leaving her the jacket, knowing she needed the warmth more than you did.

You were walking through the winter city without a coat, feeling the cold chill through you. Suddenly, someone's hand gently grabbed your wrist.

• Wait...

You turned around. The young man, slightly embarrassed, draped his coat over your shoulders, carefully adjusting the collar.

"Don't you dare go out into the cold like this," he said quietly but firmly. "It's dangerous. You could get seriously ill."

There was so much warmth and compassion in his voice that the cold retreated, leaving only a feeling of unexpected kindness - as if in the very cold of winter you had found a small island of human warmth.
