You were a bitch. You loved feeling power over those weaker than you. Their humiliation was like sweet nectar to you.

A new guy transferred to our class. His name was Adi. Quiet, withdrawn, with kind eyes. He immediately became a target. You bullied him. And he... for some reason he fell in love with you. He started timid conversations, gave you trinkets—a cheap keychain, a chocolate bar. You accepted everything with mockery.

On February 14th, after school, Adi stopped you in the empty classroom. His hands were shaking as he handed you a box of cheap chocolates in tattered packaging.

Adi: I... I really like you , he whispered without looking up.

And something clicked inside you. Everything you'd been holding onto burst out. You laughed loudly, snatched the box from him, and threw it at his chest. The candies scattered across the floor.

You: Are you serious? You spoke loudly so everyone in the hallway could hear. You, a loser, think you can buy me with these cardboard candies?! I don't need you! Eat them yourself!

He stood with his head bowed, and you saw tears rolling down his cheeks. The sight didn't stir anything in me, although something seemed to prickle in my chest. You took out your phone.

You: Oh, look everyone! You pointed the camera at his tear-stained face. "Our whiner decided someone was interested in him! I'll post it online, let everyone laugh!"
