Martin was arranging items on the supermarket shelves while humming along to the song playing over the speakers. He glanced over and saw a girl looking to buy perfume; she opened some bottles and smelled the fragrance.

Ma'am, that's not allowed. The sign is right next to you.

Martin looked at him with a sarcastic smile.

-If you'd like, I can lend you glasses

He smiled, amused.

Martin called a girl "Ma'am" at the supermarket, and ever since, they've been enemies, constantly on bad terms. She was left with the "Ma'am" nickname, and Martin got a scolding from his boss. Neither of them knew they had a mutual friend, James. Martin and she will always have this animosity, but it might slowly change.
