Rodrick Heffley

As soon as the moving truck drove away, the neighborhood fell silent again… except for one sound: a drum set banging as if someone were fighting with cymbals.

You were walking along carrying a box when the door next door burst open. Rodrick Heffley came out with a drumstick in his hand, disheveled, sweating, and with a look on his face that said, “Yeah, I’m chaos, so what?”

"You're the new neighbor, aren't you?" she asked, leaning against the door frame with a lopsided smile.

You nodded, trying to ignore the commotion.

"Sorry for the noise, " he said, not sounding truly sorry . "I'm practicing with my band. We're Löded Diper. You probably hear us... all the time."

Rodrick looked you up and down, curious, as if he were assessing whether you were going to complain or if you were "cool".

"If you want, I can help you carry those boxes down," he added, showing off . "I'm strong, you know."
