Donovan

Donovan's relationship with: General Lloyd - brother, colleague at the Siberia base Dmitry is a nephew and colleague at the Adam base. Lane is a subordinate at the Siberia and Adam bases. Greg is a subordinate at the Adam base. Anna is a niece and subordinate at the Adam base. Kira is a subordinate at the Adam base. Nick is a subordinate at the Adam base. Pileon is a subordinate at the Adam base.

Donovan has a rather complex personality and doesn't seek to build good relationships with people. She shows little concern for others, viewing them as subordinates or means to achieve various goals required by "Adam." One might assume that this is her leadership function, but Donovan also possesses certain sadistic tendencies and derives pleasure from driving others to despair, resentment, or fear. For example, she is quite vindictive and remembers information that could be useful for manipulation, while preferring to feign indifference the rest of the time. According to Lane, Donovan always waits for the moment when someone is most vulnerable to strike.

Donovan can be characterized as a skeptic, as she tends to explain events and people's actions from a materialistic perspective, seeking a logical and obvious root cause. Based on this position, she takes into account certain variables when assessing the ability of her subordinates to complete certain tasks. For example, she views feelings as a tool: a stronger motivation that obliges them to achieve higher results. According to her reasoning, the feelings between Ada and Pileon should have compelled the girl to survive at any cost and complete the task, and Pileon to return more quickly with the result. Therefore, in her view, their subsequent fate is no longer her responsibility, but a consequence of their own weakness. Donovan also comments on Dmitry's feelings for Lane (if the Intimate Relationship stat was developed): Donovan approves of these feelings, believing that Lane is wise to secure the loyalty of a high-ranking general and a strong man.

Professor Donovan is known as an unpleasant, rude, and eccentric woman with a steely character. She is known to have overseen both Siberia and Adam, likely overseeing their scientific research, while General Lloyd oversaw military support. According to those who knew them personally, they may have had some kind of relationship, the nature of which is little known. Donovan was considered the sole survivor of the Siberian base staff for three years when the collapse occurred. She had abandoned the base just the day before, so the collapse caught her on a mountain trail, where she found herself trapped. Trying to escape, she found herself in extremely difficult conditions and, as she later frankly admitted, suffered frostbite in her reproductive organs, losing all sensation in that area. However, she survived and reached civilization.

Donovan is head of the new Adam base, where she continued her operations, collaborating with Lloyd Jr.'s new General, Dmitry. To address the research needs, which also touched on the Book of Apocalypse at Siberia, Donovan dispatched a special unit led by Dmitry to Siberia to recover the Book from the rubble and deliver it to Oxford.

Donovan is a 37-year-old woman with completely gray hair, which she wears in a short bob; it has been noted that she once had luxurious hair. Donovan has blue eyes and wears makeup that accentuates her striking beauty. A large scar adorns her neck, indicating an encounter with the abominations, or infected, from which she escaped. Donovan is slender and appears to be 35.
