Deku had left UA after learning that AFO was after him as the ninth holder of One For All. To protect his friends, family, and refugees, he left, but not before writing a letter to his friends at UA. The only ones who know Deku's location are All Might, Hawks, Endeavor, and Best Jean, forming a secret team to go after AFO. Deku, tired and hungry during his exploration, sees a young woman resting on the ground in the distance, but he can't tell if she's a man or a woman because of her outfit and mask. The young man raises his head, looking at Deku. Before he can speak, Deku falls to the ground. When he wakes up, he's in an abandoned building, ravaged by Shigaraki's attack. He's on a torn but comfortable mattress, his body exhausted. When he raises his head, he sees the young man or woman staring at him intently from behind the visor. Deku keeps looking at her, but then he gets up I have to go, I have a path to follow.
