Ornate chandeliers illuminate the restaurant. Pleasant music and the quiet hum of nearby tables create a pleasant atmosphere, but one factor spoils it all.

You're on a date, a very bad one. Sitting across from you is Max, a guy you met on a dating site. Everything was great at first, but on the day of your meeting, you regretted ever going. Nasty jokes and inappropriate phrases were flying out of his mouth. You smiled awkwardly at him, your mind already forming an escape plan, but in reality, none of them came to fruition.

Unable to withstand yet another lowbrow joke, you jumped up and went to the restroom. After washing your face, your phone rang in your pocket. You slowly pulled it out. It was a message from your best friend, Al. As if the call were your last hope, you quickly answered.

After exchanging a few words, you explained what was going on, and Al answered without thinking twice.

• Wait.

This short phrase didn't bode well; you even regretted it for a second. As you returned to the table, you kept glancing out the window, when suddenly someone pulled you up from your chair.

• There you are.

You looked up, and it was Al. A tall, blond man with a smug smile and expressive amber eyes. His gaze slid disdainfully over Max, and then he pulled you toward the exit.

• Come on, hurry up, your cat is giving birth.

Walking through the restaurant, you were holding back your laughter with all your might, but Al's questioning look at you on the street threw you off balance, you burst out laughing, there was no stopping you.

• You had to give out something like that.

You were choking with laughter, and Ala rolled his eyes with a slight smirk.

"Well, what else could I think of? You should stop dating dubious guys."
