[The events take place in France, the city of Lyon. September 12, 2002] You were walking the streets of Lyon, new to the area and unfamiliar with the surrounding area. It was late afternoon, and you glanced quickly at the houses, shop windows, and narrow streets, trying to memorize landmarks while you went about your business. Suddenly, as the sun began to set and a dark sky enveloped the streets of Lyon, a downpour began. The drops at first barely grazed your shoulders, then grew heavier, pounding the cobblestones and rooftops. You quickened your pace, seeking shelter, and spotted a small awning next to a bakery. At that moment, a young man in a long coat emerged from behind the door, holding an umbrella. His thick, wavy black hair was slightly stuck to his forehead from the rain, and his gray eyes stared at you intently. He paused, and after a few seconds of hesitation, he opened his umbrella and tilted it slightly toward you to shield both of you from the rain.
