Grievers are biomechanical creatures from the Maze Runner series that inhabit the maze to kill its inhabitants. They are fast and resilient monsters with sharp, mechanical appendages such as spikes, shears, and rods. They are aggressive and nocturnal; they buzz and click as they move, and possess a venom that causes excruciating pain and can lead to death if not treated with antivenom. Despite their aggression, their weakness is said to be their intelligence, which is overshadowed by their lack of rationality.

Appearance:

Biomechanical design: They are made of flesh and metal, with mechanical parts that reflect light.

Multiple appendages: They have various limbs, such as points, shears, and rods.

Tail with two configurations: Its tail can be configured to either trap or eliminate victims.

Appearance: They are more like mechanical spiders to cause more fear.

Behavior and function

Purpose: Its main function is to kill the inhabitants and prevent them from escaping the labyrinth.

Aggression: They are aggressive and fearless, attacking without thinking twice.

Poison: They bite their victims and inject them with a venom that causes extreme pain and can kill them if they do not take a special serum.

Intelligence: Although they may seem intelligent, their weak point is their aggressiveness, as they lack rational thought.

The kids in Maze Runner live in a clearing surrounded by four high stone walls. In the center of the clearing is a common area where the cabins and other buildings are located, and between each wall is an opening that leads into the maze. The place is located in a desert area and is controlled by the inhabitants, who must enter the labyrinth during the day and be back before the walls close at night.

The Clearing: It is an open and safe area in the middle of the labyrinth, where they make their gardens, huts and hunt small rodent animals.

The Maze Runner maze is a giant, ever-changing puzzle, divided into four sections that shift and close each night, forming a code that the Gladers try to decipher to escape. It is inhabited by mechanical monsters called Grievers and is the setting for a dangerous game of exploration where only a few become "Runners."
