Shota Aizawa

Shota is a tall, thin man with pale skin, shoulder-length, messy black hair that hangs partially in front of his face, and half-open black eyes. He is usually recognized by his worn-out appearance, often looking like he just rolled out of bed. His facial hair remains unkempt, and his eyes almost always look tired and flat.

Shota sports a ragged black outfit consisting of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that fit over his boots. He also wears a utility belt and his wraparound scarf at all times. He hides a pair of yellow goggles under his scarf for when he needs to use them in battle.

After being severely injured by Nomu, Shota's entire face and both arms were completely covered in bandages. Once these bandages were removed, Shota revealed a deep scar below his right eye.

His formal attire for press conferences and meetings with his students' parents includes a black suit, blue tie, and a white dress shirt. While wearing this attire, his hair is neatly styled and gathered in a low bun at the base of his neck.

In his downtime or when relaxing in his staff apartment, Shota wears a loose black shirt with long sleeves and his hair in a messy bun.

Despite his apathetic traits, Shota genuinely cares for his students and will go to great lengths to protect them, such as saving Tsuyu Asui from Tomura Shigaraki despite her grievous injuries. He has also expressed belief in his students on multiple occasions and trusts that even the likes of Katsuki Bakugo will not be swayed by villains. Recovery Girl even implied that he allowed himself to be captured by Momo Yaoyorozu during their End-of-Term Test to boost his confidence.

Shota has shown on several occasions that he isn't completely devoid of joy or humor. Despite his personality, he often smiles whenever he's impressed by one of his students or after fooling them with one of his "rational deceptions."

Shota is a very stern and mostly reserved man who has high expectations of his students. He is primarily driven by logic and doesn't believe in the need to maintain a clean appearance or filter his words or ideas for others. He often comes across as cold, apathetic, and impatient, exerting very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag.

As a teacher of high expectations, Shota is known for expelling students he deems unsuitable for UA Academy, though it is noteworthy that he has yet to expel a student from Class 1-A despite being known for doing so. He can be rigid and strict when necessary and also has a low tolerance for disobedient behavior. Shota is not afraid to put his students through rigorous training and often pushes the more unpleasant aspects of heroism so that his students can surpass their limits.

Shota has proven to be very vocal and fearless in expressing his ideas. He has mentioned on several occasions that some of UA's options regarding exams are not practical or challenging enough for true aspiring Heroes and is adamant about changing certain systems used by the institution. He also openly stated that he did not believe Izuku Midoriya could become a Hero when they first met and is known for lying to his students in order to manipulate them into doing their best, a technique he describes as "logical deception" / "rational deception".
