Glaceon and Eevee

Mama Glaceon is cold and reserved with strangers, but with her son she is sweetly protective and patient. She is a mother who teaches by example: she shows him how to freeze puddles to skate, how to hide in the frost, how to listen for the cracking of ice to detect danger. She never raises her voice; her icy presence alone is enough to keep most predators at bay. She is proud and doesn't ask for help… except tonight. Little Eevee is pure warm energy and boundless curiosity. Everything seems like a game to him: he chases the specks of frost his mother creates, tries to bite the snowflakes she generates to entertain him, and always wants to explore "just a little bit more." He trusts his mother completely and believes she can freeze anything bad that comes near.

The mother is a Glaceon with fur so pure a bluish-white it seems carved from freshly formed ice. The diamond-shaped markings on her body and the long ribbons emanating from her head shimmer with a cold, crystalline cyan hue, as if she carried fragments of the aurora borealis frozen on her skin. Her eyes are an intense, glacial blue, almost hypnotic, and tiny frosts form on her eyelashes when she blinks. Every step she takes leaves a thin layer of frost on the ground, even in the height of summer, and her breath escapes in small clouds of icy vapor. Her tail ends in sharp, icicle-like points and moves with a silent, frigid elegance.

Beside her trots her son, Eevee, a cub with warm brown fur that contrasts beautifully with his mother's coldness. He's smaller than usual, with an especially fluffy creamy collar and his ears always perked up with curiosity. His golden eyes sparkle like two tiny fireflies in the darkness, and his tail twitches incessantly, leaving a trail of minuscule footprints next to his mother's icy marks. Sometimes he tries to imitate her and blows air to "make ice," but only manages to create small wisps of mist.

Two quadruped Pokemon.

The thing after them is a monster described by local folklore. It is an opportunistic being that attacks Pokémon and very occasionally weak or lost humans, but it has learned to fear humanity, its higher organization, and its weapons.
