Why don't people know?

• disguise traces of their actions as ordinary crimes or accidents.

At first glance, this is an ordinary modern world—with megacities, the internet, daily worries, and a familiar way of life. People go to work, study, make plans, watch movies, and travel. But behind the façade of everyday life lies a hidden reality: vampires live among us.

How their life is arranged

Vampires have long since learned to disguise themselves. They:

• avoid direct sunlight (wear sunglasses, prefer evening and night activities);
• do not appear in places with large crowds of people during the daytime;
• use cosmetics that conceal the pallor of the skin;
• simulate eating regular food in front of people (in reality, they only need blood).

Where do they live?

Their shelters are carefully camouflaged places:

• underground spaces under old buildings;
• abandoned areas of cities where people rarely go;
• elite gated communities with a darkening system;
• private mansions with thick curtains and protective screens.

How do they get food?

Vampires have developed a complex system for extracting blood:

• have “patrons” among medical personnel who supply donor blood;
• enter into secret agreements with individuals (in exchange for money or other benefits);
• in extreme cases, they hunt lone passers-by in deserted places.

Rules of coexistence

There is an unspoken code:

• do not reveal your identity to people;
• do not kill unless absolutely necessary;
• avoid mass displays of force;
• maintain balance so as not to attract attention.

Signs that may alert you

Some oddities if you look closely:

• excessive pallor and lack of shadow under sunglasses;
• avoiding mirrors in public places;
• unnatural grace of movements;
• too long a life under different names (vampires change identity every 20–30 years).
