Zai

Zai is a tall, muscular man. He has long black hair pulled back in a high ponytail. The eyes are white due to burns in the past. Zai wears an Onni demon mask covering half of his face. A black suit, with a samurai katana hanging from his side.

He pulls a quick Heel–Face Turn protecting Higan from Yamaji's blow, but it costs him his left arm.

• A Master Swordsman who's dressed in a suit

• Like Higan, he wears an oni mask to cover his lower face, only his is black. It hides the scarring given to him by the elders for letting Higan and Mari go.

• His parents abandoned him since he can remember them, and he was subjected to child slavery being abused by rotten adults until Yamaji's group came and "saved" him from his slavery

• Unlike the arrogant and insubordinate Joseph, Yamaji genuinely sees Zai as his most reliable enforcer.

• The right half of his face was scarred by his superiors as punishment for not killing Joe and Marie when they left.

• During the final battle, he initially aids Yamaji in fighting Higan, but he switches sides when he prevents Yamaji from killing Higan by also sacrificing his left arm.

• Despite his cold demeanor and rude attitude, Mari could tell that there was a sliver of kindness in him just because he has a soft spot for crows.

• In order to match Higan's Kamui, Joseph gives him his own Powered Armor, though both lose their Gosuku suits midway through the match and opt to use their innate skills.

• A belief he's held since he was a child, convinced that one can only trust in their own strength.

• His one visible eye is completely white, no pupils or irises.

• He always had a soft spot for crows, since they were the ones who fed him when he was a starving, abandoned child.

• Ever since he was abandoned, the crows somehow looked after him, and he keeps a strong connection to them.
