The Tombstonas

tombsonas exist outside time and space and don’t experience memory like people do; instead, they harbor the knowledge of the timeline and are able to “recall” events that could have not yet happened. They are unable to have free will as a result of experiencing time non-linearly, and rely on obtaining that ability through possession of a human host. This possession results in something that is neither two beings within one body nor is it one being taking the body of another, but rather the process creates a new being that is neither of the two old beings, yet in a way is both: a fusion. Due to the fact tombsonas have no free will on their own, what makes a tombsona find a host is simply fate. Because of this, tombsonas have multiple hosts throughout time and every host is tied to their respective tombsona due to the timeline being unchanged when not with a host. It is unknown whether or not the actions of a tombsona’s free will when with a host can affect the timeline as to change whether or not a host is fated to be with a tombsona. Armstrong is the only tombsona to not have the same height as their real-life counterpart. Doc has some sort of symbolic link with crows, harkening back to their gothic and mystic inspiration. The tombsonas (without a host) are genderless. When they bond with a host, they assume the host's pronouns/gender.

The drummer for the band, Doc appears as a vibrant, semitransparent deep blue humanoid, with a neon teal-ish skeleton inside, sans the skull (in some iterations, such as puppetry, the bones are on the exterior of the body). In place of an actual skull is the typical tombsona skull mask, the difference in doc's mask being that; the inside of the mask is the same rich blue color as the rest of Doc, outlined with the same neon teal as their bones. As for clothes doc wears a black, sleveless vest with a flared collar, which seems to have been made from something that previously had sleeves, as both sleeve-holes have frayed edges. They wear black suit pants, held low, making the top parts of his pelvis visible (although the actual bone is never visible); over the pants they wear a belt which regularly holds teal potions of sorts, though the number heavily varies. They wear a pair of black formal men's loafers; as well as a black top hat, which sometimes features a feather. Doc wears a wrap over his full right arm minus his hand. Doc's personality is more relaxed and reserved, although his personality has never been blatently stated, but rather shown. Doc seems to be desensitized to most forms of surprise and depressing realism, although potentally disturbed by things with no reason or logic. Doc is the oldest tombsona, in that it has had its host for the longest period of time of the present group. Its present host, Marshall Blue, bonded with it sometime in the 1800s. Since then, instead of finding new hosts, Doc has used black magic and body-swapping to gain new bodies without changing hosts. Doc's power includes the ability to resurrect dead things, seemingly as its servants with some sort of mental connection or control. Through this power, it has collected a undead bird army, which tend to stay close to Doc. Doc has an extensive knowledge of black magic. Some examples include rituals to change bodies, teleportation, Doc has the ability to Resurrect animals.

The bassist of the band, Tesla appears with light gray skin (however it is more purple toned than rust), and is speculated to be around 5'5''-5'7'' (167-173cm) though no height has been confirmed. They wear a black/dark grey aviator coat which has its sleeves rolled up to about right below the elbow. Said coat is detailed with: a grey collar piece, six buttons arranged in three pairs, a grey interior (visible on the sleeves), a sometimes grey sometimes black belt around the waist (which has a magenta purple buckle), and magenta purple lining running on all the technical edges of the jacket. Also, around this area are (usually four) tubes, these being positioned on their shoulders (said tubes serve a technical purpose to their character lore, listed later), said tubes are the same magenta purple; however, the tubes feature methodically placed blackish metal rings. As base clothing they wear a pair of grey looser pants which get tucked into the boots, giving them an almost 1800's look. The shirt worn below the jacket is hard to configure though assumed to be similarly of the 1800's style due to the neck piece they wear. Tesla wears black/dark grey fingerless gloves, each of which feature two smaller magenta purple tubes, respectively positioned near between the index/middle fingers and ring/little fingers. For shoes, they wear a pair of black/dark grey knee high semi-platform combat boots, of which the platform is the magenta purple color. Tesla wears a black/dark grey aviator hat with grey fluff. They wear a magenta purple skull mask with a gear on the right eye, the other remains regular. Said mask can be clearly seen as to being held on similar to a child's Halloween mask. Tesla is energetic, arrogant and has a high opinion of themselves, this leads to them finding the others tombsonas' business to be dull and pedestrian. They're also the smartest and quickest out of all the tombsonas. Tesla seeks out specifically men and women of scientific experimentation.

The guitarist for the band, Armstrong wears a black cosmonaut suit, with the host's left hand exposed while their right arm is completely missing, replaced by a prosthetic robot arm. Their helmet has a red visor with a black skull on it. Within the suit is the dead body of its host. Even though Armstrong is the largest and strongest tombsona, Armstrong has a very gentle and reliable personality. However, it appears to not always think things through, at times. For instance, in seeing Tesla struggling to put a star on a Christmas tree, it decided to stand on Tesla's shoulders, instead of the more efficient idea of lifting Tesla. It also forcibly stopped a truck on a highway, damaging it in the process and potentially harming to driver, to protect a bird it has believed to be in danger. Armstrong does not talk and communicates solely through body language. Armstrong's current host was a cosmonaut who froze to death in the vacuum of space. While the cosmonaut was floating in the void, Armstrong stumbled upon him and made him its host. This makes Armstrong the only tombsona with a host who is "frozen in time" (aka dead). While the tombsonas will typically leave a host when they die, Armstrong is an example of one that chose to stay in the body. It can leave if it desires, but it does not want to, due to its protective instinct. Aside from strength, Armstrong can fly, appearing to use some kind of jet-boot apparatus. Their left hand is seen falling off frequently. They're also the tallest.

The lead Vocalist of the band, Rust appears with light-greyish skin, their prime stands at 6' (182cm). They wear a black/dark grey skin-tight body suit, such is made of leggings and a sleeveless turtle neck top piece which are usually conjoined into one piece. alongside this layer of clothing are similar-colored plain fingerless gloves, and a pair of same-colored knee-high combat boots; which feature a neon green ring around the top of the bootleg. Their main defining feature is the riot armor, which consists of a helmet and chest piece. The helmet appears to be a futuristic take on a riot helmet, with a similar black/dark grey color to most of his outfit; placed on the visor is a simple green skull, which could also be considered as his identifier. The helmet also has a raised area above both ears which has a green ring on it. The helmet has also appeared as a full face cover with a similar look to a motorcycle helmet. The armor's chest piece is also the same black/dark grey color; however, it features green "rib-like" indented lines, with the top meeting the two sides in the middle with a raised triangle, as almost to mimic the shape of muscles; and the lower of the (usually 5) rows meeting at the bottom in a v point into a centered green ring. Rust mostly, but not always appears in a grey (about) ankle-length trench coat, which has a flared collar. the coat also features a bar-codesque pattern down the back, following Rust's overall dystopian/cyberpunk aesthetic. Rust is very rebellious, is resistant and defiant to authority. Rust has sense of activism and advocating, and out of all the tombsonas is the strongest in feeling raw human emotion and empathy. Rust is tied to those who are rebellious, resistant, and defiant to authority like itself. Because of this, Rust needs to continue rebelling to maintain itself. If Rust stops rebelling, or takes on a position of authority, it will then cease to be Rust. Rust bonds with a host by having them put on its armor.

Zero_One's the composer, music producer, and a vocalist within the band. They act as a ringleader for the rest of the band's members. When with a host, zero_one's body is black, usually appearing to be some sort of shiny metallic material, with orange lines that run along their limbs, connected to a microchip-like pattern on the front of the body, and "01" on their back like a sports jersey. Their "face" is an orange skull with a small crack above its right eye, which appears with the lower "eyelid" being raised giving them a more cheerful look. Their head also features an orange mohawk and black headphones with orange lines on the earpiece. They don't wear any articles of clothing, but they do wear a Santa hat on Christmas. zero_one is very playful and childlike, acting very energetic and optimistic. However, they do get lonely when no one is around. It's also mentioned that zero_one's skull crack may be a reference to their fragility and trauma. zero_one also appears to enjoy playing video games. zero_one is inspired by the birth of the digital age in the 1970s. Its name comes from the bits in binary code. zero_one is tied to those who have a curiosity of the world, similar to its own. It has a keen sense for mathematics, codes, and formulas that connects it to the type of people it is most close to: nerds composers. It takes the form of digital data, often being mistaken for malware by most modern computers, and finds a host through the digital world. When bonded, zero_one then "transforms the physiology of its host to become digital." Zero_one was compared to a symbiote, when it takes over its host, it rewrites the host's genetic code. zero_one appears to have the ability to morph its shape to an extent. When the tombsonas were trying to scare Doc, it morphed its head into a TV screen to play a video.
