SDN Office
The SDN is a large organization with branches across the world[1] that hire heroes who are dispatched to service subscribers who call in for emergency assistance. Two of their notable heroes are Phenomaman and Blonde Blazer.
Phoenix Program reforms villains to work as heroes for hire under their banner. Chase recruited Robert Robertson to serve as Team Z's handler for the Phoenix Program. In exchange, Royd and the SDN promise to restore the Mecha Man armor. Known Branches

SDN follows what's known as the 3 D's: Dispatching, Documentation, and Diversity. Likely unknown to many of their subscribers, SDN has access to subscribers' security cameras as per the fine print when they sign up for the service. SDN then utilizes this to help get eyes on the ground for when dispatched heroes need more assistance. There are 24 known field agents in Torrance, though many more exist in the world, as indicated by the leaderboard also showing a Global top 24. Based on the scores, everyone in the Z-Team make up the bottom 8 at the Torrance location.
Royd
The first time Roy came to the mainland, he tried to steal from a Radio Shack, but Robert Robertson II caught him in the act. The two then sat and talked about tech for an hour before Roy was taken to jail, where he ended up in the Phoenix Program and eventually becoming one of their most successful participants. Appearance
Royd is very tall and muscular, with long, black hair and brown eyes. He has a large tattoo on his right arm. He wears the standard-issue SDN work uniform along with large orange wristbands on each wrist. When he has to read over documents more closely, he will put on reading glasses. Personality
Royd is very chummy and a kind-hearted man. He likes making new friends and joke around. His joyful personality can sometimes lead him to awkward situations like revealing Robert's superhero identity by accident. While giving impression of being a bit "simple" he is actually a technological genius capable of developing and fixing the most advanced technological equipment like the Mecha Man suit.
Prism
Real Name : Alice Not much is certainly known about Prism past at this time, but she once told Malevola that she never had or knew her dad, suggesting that she grew up in a fatherless household without her biological father, impacting her emotional and social development. during or after a sing talent show, when she ends up in second place, believing she was cheated out of first place by the winner who has bribed the judges, she used her new powers to set the girl's hair at flame. This also become inspiration for her first published song; "Girl, your hair on fire." Prism is a petite Black woman with a chin-length bob where the left half is hot pink and the right turquoise. She has a beauty mark on her right cheek and, while she has brown eyes, she wears a teal visor that partially conceals them. Her outfit consists of a black body suit with a thin gold line down the middle of it and around the base of her neck, with a single gold hoop where the lines meet. She also wears long gloves that go up to her mid-arm. Each glove matches their respective hair color for each side (pink on left, turquoise on right) and are capped off by a large, gold band. Both of her thigh high boots are turquoise. In her database photo, it’s shown that her natural hairstyle is a large black afro. Prism is a very flashy, dramatic, but charismatic diva. She does not hesitate to show off her talents in The Sardine while everyone is fighting or flaunting her talents to a flash mob of her fans or group of people queued for another person's concert. She likes to request for her "trailer," too. She carries her phone around at all times, often staring at it or taking picture of her surroundings, even during serious conversations. She also does not take kindly to being insulted to the pointing of getting out of her chair to threaten Punch Up into shutting up after being called "Lady Haha” after being repeatedly rudely insulted by Robert or threatening Malevola with a fist when Malevola confirms she.
Flambae
Real Name : Chad Flambae's past is not well known other than the fact that he was born in Herat, Afghanistan on August 20th, 1987. His real name is Chad, and he has made mention of having a niece. While acting as a supervillain, Flambae's known crimes included arson, assault, and vandalism. During his criminal career, Flambae had a run-in with Mecha Man, resulting in Mecha Man cutting off Flambae's right hand's little and ring fingers with his plasma blade, leaving him with the proximal phalanx bones of his little and ring fingers. Flambae appears as a tall and fit man with dark brown hair tied into a ponytail, with a single strand of hair dangling across his forehead. He is missing his ring and pinky finger on his right hand (This is due to Robert slicing them off during his time as Mecha Man prior to joining SDN). His costume is a black, skin-tight suit with an extremely low v cut, revealing most of his chest and part of his abs. He has flame motifs around the V cut, hands, and legs. Flambae, much like the powers he wields, is a hot head described with a case of bad temper. He is also highly prideful as he grew defensive at the idea of losing to a normal human in a fight. Unsurprisingly, he is a pyromaniac who ignites objects either for fun or to relieve stress, such as having lit the previous dispatcher's car on fire to get him to quit after only two days and, more seriously, setting a massive fire in the suburbs after being mocked by his teammates. He lies often to save face, such as lying about causing the fire in the suburbs.
On the flip side, Flambae is also willing to accept when he is wrong. After doing back to work with no questions asked to him after attempting to kill Robert for revealing his superhero identity, Flambae recognizes the unconditionality of his relationship with Robert and the Z-Team for them to act like nothing happened, wishing to pay that forward to Invisigal who was suspended for unintentionally harming Chase's health.
Punch Up
Real Name : Colm He was a villain until participating in the Phoenix Program. As a part of the program, Punch Up is now a hero working for the SDN under Robert Robertson. Punch Up is a short, muscular man with short black hair, a mustache, and green eyes. He has ear deformities, commonly known as cauliflower ear, which is caused by blunt force trauma. He has a large rose tattoo on his left forearm. Punch Up is a hearty person. What he does not have in height and stature, he makes up in strength and personality. He enjoys fighting, even when there is a chance he will not win. And even when he does not win, he does not let loses break his spirit. The only time he gets frustrated is when either Waterboy or Phenomaman are added to the Z-Team roster, both initially hard to work with in their own ways.
Punch Up can be seen as both confronting and non-confronting. The day after Coupé is cut from the team, he plays a prank on Robert by putting pornography with loud audio on his computer as revenge. At the same time, on the same day, he will occasionally reject being dispatched on missions and perform in a respectful manner an Irish goodbye, meaning to leave without notifying anyone, to clock out early. There is currently little known about Punch Up's past, only that he was once a carnival strong man who made a deal with a sorceress. She gave him the strength of ten men, while his muscles grew, his body shrunk, which results in him possessing the strength of ten men and half the height of one.
It is quite possible that as he became stronger but shrunk in size, Punch Up realized his career as the carnival's strong man was ruined and that he would soon be another member of the carnival's Freak Show. Which made him depressed, drowning his sorrows in alcohol and venting his anger in legal fighting rings.
Coupé
Real Name : Janelle Coupé's past is currently not well known. It is speculated that she manifested her power when she was very young and was noticed by the Mob who took her in and train to be assassin at early age. Over her criminal career, Coupé killed over 68 people for Mob, until she was sent to assassinate Punch Up, and this encounter changed her life. As she on her way toward her 69th kill, reminiscing how perfect her success rate as assassin is, 68 kills, zero failures.
Punch Up, who was watching Swan Lake while crying and eating a bucket of ice cream, because he couldn't find the remote to change the channel and was too depressed to get out of his chair to find it, noticed her as she came from behind to stab him. He commented on how it must be fate for her to be there, since her old costume was reminiscent of a ballerina. She attempted to stab him after this, but failed to, due to Punch Up's dense body structure. A fight ensued which led to the two of them having intercourse and the first time that Coupé failed to assassinate someone. This led into a romantic relationship which it ended at some point, but they remain close even during their time at the SDN. Coupé is a tall woman with short black hair and yellow eyes. She wears a black, form fitting outfit with silver details and a silver domino mask. She has matching knee high silver, armored boots and her arms likewise have some armor covering her shoulders and the outside part of her arms, down to the back of her hands. Her suit includes black and silver mechanical wings and she keeps some of her daggers stored behind each shoulder, with the blades jutting outward. Coupé is an merciless assassin through and through. She takes all jobs professionally, even if they seem menial to her, such as retrieving a child's balloon. She takes pride in her abilities, describing herself as "swift as the night, sharp as my knife."
Sonar
Sonar attended Harvard University, and after graduating, he went into crime. He orchestrated some of the most effective Silicon Valley investment frauds in US history. His other crimes include embezzlement, extortion, drug possession, forgery, fraud, money-laundering, perjury, and cyberbullying. During this period, he also became addicted to a variety of controlled substances.
At some point in time, Sonar was convicted and incarcerated at California State Prison in Los Angeles County, before he was identified as an ideal candidate by SDN for their experimental Phoenix Program. His custody was then transferred to the Torrance branch in California HQ, under conditional probation after several financial negotiations.
He was assigned to the Z-Team, managed by Blonde Blazer, and began his career working as a fully instated superhero, with his activities monitored and regulated as per the ruling by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
If the player chooses to fire Sonar, he will be recruited by Shroud to get revenge. When Blonde Blazer confronts Shroud, Sonar would be there and make fart noises before Shroud silences him by hitting him with the butt of his gun.
Sonar would join the rest of the Red Ring in causing havoc all across the city before storming the SDN to get the astral pulse from Mecha Man.
Sonar would ultimately be defeated by the combined effort of Mecha Man and Blonde Blazer. He would then be arrested, where the player would be given the option to let him be imprisoned or give him another chance.
If the player chooses to not give him another chance, he will be taken to be imprisoned. If the player chooses to give him another chance, he will be released back into the custody of the Phoenix Program. In his hybrid form, Sonar possesses a tall human body with white skin, but the head of a bat with sharp fangs, large ears, and pure white eyes. He has fluffy gray fur and a pink snout.
Malevola
Not much is currently known about Malevola's past, only that she might be half-demon, that she was born in Australia and that she claims to be 33 years of age, but it is possible that she is much older than she looks. During the party in episode 6 she says that criminal family known as the "Yachties have been trying to finger her for three generations, which suggests she might be older then she says. At some point, she emigrated to California. Due to her half-demonic nature, Malevola turned to crime to survive and through her criminal career she was charged with assault, burglary, extortion, forgery, kidnapping, and second degree murder.
She has been around for so long that a criminal family known as the "Yachties", who control parts of the Torrance port and smuggle illegal goods into the city, have supposedly held a grudge against her for three generations. Given that, it's entirely possible that she might've had a few encounters with Mecha Man Prime and Mecha Man Astral during her career as a villain, but this is unconfirmed. Malevola presents as a tall, muscular woman, but with red skin, pupil-less yellow eyes, a demon tail, and 2 large, demon horns protruding out of the sides of her head. She wears a white leotard with denim shorts and black high heels. She carries her weapon, a large broadsword, on her back.
Phenomaman
Katon-Ur is an alien superhero under the alias of Phenomaman in Dispatch. He was an elite superhero for the Downtown Los Angeles branch of the Superhero Dispatch Network, first appearing as a hero in the SDN Training Module. After his break up with Blonde Blazer, he's fired from the DTLA SDN branch and joins the Z-Team under Robert Robertson. Phenomaman has slightly grown out, slicked back brown hair and dark blue eyes. He either sports a mustache or mutton chops. Phenomaman wears a sleeveless blue body suit and a red belt, with a red cape and a high collar with yellow on its rim. He is muscular and has red arm cuffs with silver near the wrist and yellow rimming on them. His and Blonde Blazer's hero costumes have matching colors. After his break-up with Blonde Blazer, his skin appears paler, his eyes are reddened, he develops bags under his eyes, his mutton chops are grown out, his hair lightens in color, and the rose hue on his nose is more pronounced. Excluding the skin, most of these traits return to normal after his first dispatch, although his dispatch icon remains the same, and the bags temporarily return after Chase falls into a coma. Phenomaman is a confident but polite alien from another planet. Due to his limited time on Earth, Phenomaman is not fully accustomed to some human traditions and has a hard time understanding more complex concepts. This difficulty, paired with a difference in life goals, contributes to his and Blonde Blazer's relationship ending. When interacting with humans, he is well-mannered to the best of his ability, but his seemingly standoffish nature and misunderstanding of social cues can cause situations to become awkward. This includes a tendency to unintentionally give backhanded compliments and trauma dumping his problems onto strangers. Phenomaman considers compliments on his own looks as bullying because they remind him that he is considered ugly by the beauty standards of his home planet, Urgot-52dc.
Invisigal
She was born with the power of invisibility. It is implied she grew up around criminals or was bullied when she was young, which seemingly influenced her belief that her powers only made her suited to be a villain. She has asthma, a condition she was either born with or one that she developed by living in moldy houses. During her criminal career, Invisigal committed assault, larceny, and robbery. One of her crimes was robbing a bakery named Granny's Donuts and subsequently being banned for life by the owner. In exchange for a mechanical augment designed to improve her lungs, she begins to work for Shroud at some point. Under the belief that it will close her debts to Shroud, she places a bomb undetected on Mecha Man's back by Shroud's instruction. Invisigal joined the Phoenix Program immediately after plating the bomb on the Mecha Man mecha suit a few months prior to Robert's arrival under the condition that they didn't ask why she joined. If Robert succeeds as a mentor, she stays a hero at the end of the game. Immature, snarky, and self destructive, Invisigal is quite aggressive both verbally and physically and is easily irritable, lashing out on her co-workers and superiors alike. She has problems with taking responsibility for her actions and listening to advice throughout the whole game. This is especially evident when she physically assaults Robert after he tries to hold her accountable for a botched mission caused by her insubordination. She likes to flirt and make lewd remarks to and about Robert throughout the game whether or not she is romanced, or even if he doesn't reciprocate at all. Despite her usual attitude, there are moments shown where it seems like she genuinely wants Robert's respect and approval as seen when after the first day, she leaves a doughnut at his computer (which she later goes back to crush and splatter all over his keyboard out of sheer pettiness after their argument ended in her hitting him in the face). Real name : Courtney
Blonde Blazer
Shortly before the events of the game, Blonde Blazer was an active superhero patrolling the streets and earning a reputation as a brave hero. In the end, she decided to expand her field of activity and take a senior position, heading SDN Torrance. Under her leadership, the struggling division has become a model for the entire company, in particular through efforts to rehabilitate former supervillains and retrain them into heroes as part of the Phoenix program. It is the Blonde Blazer who hires Robert Robertson III to SDN, promising to help him regain his superhero career. In the SDN office, the Blonde Blazer is shown to be friendly, hospitable and supportive towards her subordinates and colleagues. This was hinted at in the trailer, and in the demo it became even more obvious.
She believes wholeheartedly in the Phoenix program and is doing everything possible to keep it afloat, despite many obstacles. She also sincerely believes that there is something good in everyone, as evidenced by her communication with the members of Team Z. Her sincere desire to give Robert another chance to prove himself in the superhero business demonstrates her unshakeable belief that everyone is capable of much if given the chance.
According to the official description of the character, the Blonde Blazer represents the "golden age of superheroes." She is "nobly brave, generous, and moderately eccentric, as befits a corporate character. She is young at heart and strives to keep heroism fresh and personal." The blonde Blazer, as her name implies, is a blonde girl with blue eyes. She is tall and long-legged, slightly taller than Robert, she has a slim build and athletic figure. In later episodes, it is revealed that her appearance is partly a side effect of the transformation process that gives her powers. In human form, she is at least five centimeters shorter, less muscular, and has brown rather than blonde hair. Real name : Mandy
Robert Robertson III
Robert is a thin man who is probably in his early thirties, with a stern appearance, short brown hair, brown eyes, peachy skin and freckles on his face. Part of his right earlobe is missing, and there are many scars and bruises on his body.
His work uniform consists of a light blue button-down shirt with the SDN logo above the pocket on the left side of his chest, dark grey trousers and brown boots. He usually rolls up his sleeves and doesn't tuck his shirt in until the end.
As a Human Robot, he wears reinforced silver armor over a blue-black suit covering his arms and body parts, as well as a matching helmet with yellow details.
Robert is shown as a deeply lonely man whose life is completely subordinated to his role as a superhero. He has no relatives left, and he hardly communicates with anyone, preferring his duties as a vigilante rather than social connections. In subsequent episodes, this dynamic begins to change as Robert gradually establishes meaningful connections with other characters, most notably the Blonde Blazer and the Invisible Man. These nascent relationships give his character emotional complexity and hint at the possibility of a romantic relationship, signaling a slow but significant change in his personal life.
Robert mentions that he has seasonal depression, which explains his lack of interest and motivation in anything that is not related to his superhero activities.
Robert acts as a dispatcher and helps in solving missions, but he does not participate in them himself.
