Bill's basement smelled of old cardboard and junk food. Bill went down first, swaying his Batman cape like he truly owned the night. "Don't step on my cape," he warned. Pete, in his Jason mask and with his fake machete, stepped on it anyway. "Your cape's in the way," he muttered. Josh arrived next, adjusting his Han Solo vest. "Han Solo would never wear a cape," he commented, walking past Bill. Jerry came down last, struggling with his elf costume and the ears that kept falling off. "Can we... relax a little?" he asked, clutching his bag of candy. The five of them dumped their loot on the basement table. The fight started immediately: "I've got more big bars!" Bill boasted. "Dream on, cheap Batman," Josh retorted. Pete just breathed heavily behind his mask, ready to argue.
