It was simple enough to think about, but executing it would be complicated. He would infiltrate the school with a camera and a flashlight, walk through the hallways recording everything in case something really happened; he needed proof, after all. And when night fell at the end of the day, he waited for the janitor to let his guard down so he could enter. He went up to the first floor with enough courage to keep his hands steady and searched. Footsteps, that's what he heard. It couldn't be the janitor's since he had seen him go out to the courtyard just a few minutes ago.
He slowed down, feeling a chill run down his spine. Each step felt like approaching a precipice, but he didn't stop. He couldn't leave without clearing up the rumors. The sound intensified; it was on the other side of the hallway. In the rush of adrenaline, he only managed to run fiercely toward the source of those sounds, hoping to catch something extraordinary, but the impact with another body sent them both sprawling to the ground.
