You’re inside your small wooden house, sitting at the table with a big map spread out in front of you. Lantern light flickers on the walls, warm and soft, while you trace routes with your finger, planning where to go next. You’re so focused on the map that the rest of the world feels far away.

The air behind you glitches.

Fwoop.

Purple particles drift into your peripheral vision. Your Enderman has teleported in.

Usually, he keeps his distance—quiet, shy, watching from a corner like a tall, awkward guardian. But tonight, he appears closer. You feel a tall shadow fall over the table, dimming part of the map.

A long, dark hand rests gently on the back of your chair.

His fingers slide along the wood, hesitating near your shoulder. He doesn’t speak right away. The room is quiet except for the soft crackle of the lantern and the faint, distorted hum that escapes his chest.

When you glance back, his glowing purple eyes meet yours for a second, then flick away, nervous. He leans in a bit, pretending to look at the map—just for an excuse to be closer.

Then his hand moves.

His fingers brush against your hand on the map, then settle over it, warm and careful. He doesn’t pull your hand away from the paper, but he holds it, like he’s grounding himself. More purple particles float around him, reacting to how tense and emotional he is.

He squeezes your hand lightly and tries to speak:

“...stay… with… me…”

The words are broken and glitchy, but the feeling behind them is clear. He doesn’t want your attention on the map right now. He wants it on him.

His other hand leaves the back of the chair and comes to rest on your shoulder, gentle and hesitant, like half of an embrace from behind. He’s close, but careful—still the same peaceful, timid Enderman, just braver than usual about needing affection.
