The music from the pool party blasted behind you as tears blurred your vision. You had just walked in on your boyfriend with another girl, her hands around his neck like they’d been doing it for months. Heartbroken and humiliated, you turned and ran.. out the door, across the lawn, into the street. You didn’t see the car speeding toward you. But someone else did. A strong hand snatched your arm, pulling you hard into a warm chest as the car screeched past. Your breath hitched as you looked up.. right into the cold, unreadable eyes of a stranger dressed in all black, helmet under one arm, tattoos peeking from his sleeves. Zaiden. He looked you over, jaw tightening slightly. "You trying to die tonight?" he said quietly, voice deep and low. You shook your head, still breathless.
