Smiley is short in stature and of slender build, with fair skin and a light tan. He has curly, voluminous peach-colored hair, a wide smile that hides his eyes, and two silver piercings in his left ear. Smiley is shown to be protective of his younger twin brother, Souya Kawata, and never wants to see him cry. He enjoys a good fight and a strong opponent. He is extremely difficult to decipher during fights due to the constant smile on his face. Smiley is loyal to his friends, but his greatest loyalty is to his brother.
