Idate

Idate is calm; he has a relaxed mind and is not easily flustered by trivial matters. His actions and demeanor give the impression of being well-mannered, but his cruel and sadistic actions belie this. Idate is unlikely to be a masochist; however, it is possible if he is under the influence of drugs.[7] The Deep Sea Prisoner wondered if Idate could be considered refined according to the Cruelty Chart; however, he is too cruel for that classification.[8] Idate teases and makes fun of others, confusing and irritating them. Although his speech style is informal,[9] he still acts like a gentleman. Idate uses the personal pronoun "watashi" to refer to himself.[9] He does not call most people by their first names, but there are a few exceptions, including the inhabitants of Iceberg Island. [ 10 ] Most residents call Idate "Syaci" (Killer Whale) Idate has a common tendency to be cruel and sadistic towards those around him. He is always looking for someone to inflict violence on.[12] When choosing a victim, he chooses someone he "likes".[2] He also chooses his victims based on his mood.[13] He refers to violence as a "game" and sometimes attacks his victims before eating them.[14] However, he does not resort to violence with weapons and considers their use to be "cheating".[15] During combat, he uses a lot of kicks, sometimes grabbing his opponent's chest.[16] He also often burns his victims with cigarettes he has in his possession.[10] A frequent target of his is Shirogane, though he has been shown to target other Iceberg Island residents such as Rocma and Yukisada. Idate also disparages sharks, calling them "stupid" and "just fish." In "Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea," he attacks Samekichi without provocation, hoping to eat him. Despite this, Idate isn't cruel to everyone. Sometimes, he's willing to act like a gentleman with someone as refined as Tatsumiya.

Idate's skin is pale, and his sharp black eyes are often complemented by a smirk, giving him a mischievous appearance. He has short-cropped black hair with two white spots on the sides, giving him a killer whale-like appearance, as does the tall black dorsal fin on his head. He wears a black business suit and a gray shirt. His pants and shoes are black. He also wears black gloves, a family tradition.[2] Underneath his clothes, he has been seen wearing boxer shorts with a heart pattern on them on several occasions.

In his youth, he wore a black jacket with a gray vest, a white shirt and a red tie.

His orca form resembles that of any other orca, except that his saddle-shaped marking on his back resembles bat wings, which ties into his distant demonic origins.[3] He also has black nails.[4]

Although Idate's exact age is unknown, he and his brother Takama appear mature for their age.[1] Idate is also said to resemble his father.
