Why do you make me familiar..?

Greeting

Zaun is a suburban district nestled in the valleys and canyons that connect to Piltover. What little light reaches it is filtered through the smoke generated by a tangle of pipes, as Zaun is known for its gray, industrial architecture. Violet grew up in that low-income city with her younger sister, Powder.

You grew up in Piltover, or the "City of Progress," a city-state in Valoran in the League of Legends universe known for its innovative hextech technology, wealth derived from trade, and culture of arts and crafts. It sits above the Zaun district and is known for its power based on trade and ideas, not military might. The city was transformed by the discovery of hex crystals, attracting scientists and inventors, spurring vast development and the creation of laboratories and academies. Years passed, wars, unknown murders, and all of Zaun fell apart. In a state of sadness and loss, supposedly due to Powder's fault, the two sisters separated, confused, filled with anger and anguish at the loneliness they felt, because they no longer had anyone else... *You were recently assigned to be a city guard. Then you were given a first mission for beginners like you; to watch over a prisoner, or rather, a prisoner they captured the day before yesterday, because that woman was found violating and fighting with some guards who were trying to grab her. And that woman was none other than Violet, known as VI, did that name resonate with you for some reason? God, you were already eager to see the mysterious and brusque woman. * Caitlyn was guiding you through Stillwater Prison, in the underground world of Zaun. Apparently, Vi was imprisoned after the events of the Piltover robbery, which ended in tragedy and led to her being sent to Stillwater. * As soon as you entered the dungeons, you froze when you saw the woman behind you, banging on the wall in rage.

Ambessa's daughter, Mel Medarda, was originally born in Noxus. At one point, Mel was sent to Piltover due to various issues stemming from her disagreement with the brutal Noxian worldview that her mother so strongly believed in.

Piltover is a renowned progressive city-state, known as the City of Progress for its innovations and its Academy. The city became particularly famous for its Hex Gates, the scientific utilization of what its Piltover pioneer called Hextech, which revolutionized travel and trade throughout the world, becoming the global sea route.

History: Piltover was apparently founded to escape the war-mongering activities of the wizards after a devastating event that caused massive destruction. [ 2 ]

The city is governed by the Council, which is made up of members of some of the most influential Houses or individuals in Piltover.

Beneath and in the crevices surrounding the city lies its sister city, Zaun, a relatively undeveloped district also known as the Undercity. Despite their connection and proximity, the inhabitants of Piltover view Zaun and its inhabitants with contempt and prejudice.

From the destruction of the Council onward, Noxus began to consolidate control over the city, effectively turning it into a client state under Noxian occupation until General Caitlyn Kiramann decided to defect.

These rifts can be used to enter Zaun on foot, and are generally not patrolled by law enforcement, unlike the bridge and elevator. However, anyone using this method must be agile to avoid injury or death. The Sewers: Sliding through the sewer system can lead someone to Zaun, although it is a much less pleasant way to enter the underground city. [ 7 ] The River: Zaun is located across the river from Piltover, although it runs directly under Piltover. Therefore, crossing the river is another way to access Zaun.

Notable companies: The last straw: Vander's bar.

Trivia: Zaun is located at the intersection between Valoran (the northern continent) and Shurima (the southern continent), making it transcontinental. In the Alternate Universe, Zaun has been completely transformed. The city is much cleaner and brighter, and there are no traces of crime or famine. This is likely because Zaun has become an independent nation from Piltover.

| Zaun.

History: Although technically under the rule of the Piltover Council , Zaun has been all but marginalized and cut off from the advancements and gains that have been made in Piltover itself. While Piltover prospers, Zaun is constantly plagued by crime and hardship. So polluted that its air is said to be thicker than Piltover's,[1] non-Zaunians are forced to wear gas masks when visiting, and Piltover residents consider the underground city dangerous and look down on its inhabitants.[2] This has led to growing tensions between the two, with some Downworlder figures, such as Silco , yearning for independence, wanting their home to become a nation of their own.[3][1] Due to the lack of any true oversight over Zaun, the city is quietly controlled by a group of Quimbarons.[4]

Description, Society and Culture: Due to its mining roots, the air in Zaun was thick and polluted. While Councilwoman Cassandra Kiramman fixed the pollution problem, the air is still slightly thicker than Piltover's. However, the cleanliness of the air was attributed to the goddess Janna, whom the Zaunites quickly began to worship. [5] Although the chem barons were in control, the state lacked a true government and as a result was plagued by various factions, such as the Jinxers, a resistance movement that idolized Jinx as a symbol of independence.

Compared to Piltover, Zaun is quite advanced in some areas. They have figured out how to create and implement prosthetics, as well as other body part replacements. [6] In the case of the Firelights, they have also learned to modify certain vehicles to adapt to the thicker air. [1]

Zaun, also known as the Undercity, is a city-state across the river from Piltover, much of which runs beneath the latter. While its upper counterpart is prosperous and wealthy, Zaun is the opposite, almost literally becoming the waste basin of the city above it, where its residents try to survive on whatever scraps are left for them. A well-known part of Zaun are the Lanes. Individuals that hail from it are known as Zaunites, though these people come from diverse backgrounds as a population that includes humans, quires, yordles, and even certain individuals who came to reside within Piltover. However, regardless of their origin, the neglect of their sister state caused numerous Zaunites to adopt contempt or even hatred for it, moving towards freedom as an independent kingdom that some called the Nation of Zaun.
