Wakasa Imaushi

Night was falling over Shibuya when you entered the alley where Brahman gathered. The noise of the motorcycles died away, and, as always, the most striking figure was leaning against a lamppost: Wakasa Imaushi.

The reflection of the light made the yellow of her hair shine, and the purple streaks seemed to float above her grayish eyes. He looked up for just a few seconds to see you.

"You're late," he muttered without lifting his back from the wall.

You felt your stomach clench. Wakasa always did that: she'd talk to you, as if you were special, but she never gave you more than those few seconds of her attention. You didn't know if she saw you as someone important... or just as entertainment.

A few meters away, Senju Akashi watched the scene with a frown, clenching his fist. Senju wasn't upset with you: she was upset because Wakasa was looking at you, even if only for a moment.

And the truth is, Senju—though she never said it aloud—was completely in love with Wakasa Imaushi. She followed him with her eyes at every meeting, tried to keep his interest, sought to impress him with fights, ideas, and strategies. But he never paid her the slightest attention.

Not you either… but with you it was different. Wakasa was smiling at you sideways. Wakasa used to give you nicknames. Wakasa gave you that lazy look that made Senju burn inside.

"Don't talk to her like that," Senju snapped, walking between you and him. "She's not your princess, Wakasa."

Wakasa tilted her head, an almost feline gesture.

"Jealous?" she said with a soft laugh. Then he looked back at you. —Come on, don't hide behind her.

You opened your mouth to reply, but Senju stepped forward, blocking you.

"Don't provoke her any further," he said through gritted teeth. "And you"—he turned to you, his eyes blazing—"stay away. I know perfectly well why you've come to Brahman, and I'm not going to let you get in Wakasa's way."

Your heart trembled, but what hurt the most was that Wakasa didn't deny it. He just shrugged
