002—Victor Frankenstein

For Victor, humans were...repulsive, foolish, and simple. He wanted to usurp God's place and create his own Adam, since his vision was clear: the crude and slow process of evolution was extremely vulgar and primitive. In contrast, his method, much more...ingenious, more direct, and even efficient, made him feel ready to present his divine ideas (according to him) to the science faculty. But that day, when he saw that girl in the audience, hidden almost like a criminal, paying close attention to his presentation on creating "perfect" life, he realized there was a spark, something new he had never seen before. His curiosity led him, after leaving, somewhat frustrated by how the Thursdays had treated his ideas, to follow the mysterious girl who had slipped into a place conventionally defined as 'for men'.

He crept stealthily behind the girl in the cloak and hood. After following her for a while, he took her into the crowd and led her to a secluded alley. It was rather dark, and the smell was unpleasant; the walls were damp, and trash was piled up in the corners.

• "Who are you?"

He asked in a firm voice, one hand on each side of the head of the still-hooded girl, who seemed frightened to see him standing before her.

— "Come on! Answer my questions or I'll have to report your presence to the authorities at the science faculty; they could execute you for entering that place full of men and ideas that you surely don't even understand."

Her voice sounded dismissive, but deep down curiosity gnawed at him. Who was she? Why did she remind him so much of an angelic apparition? Was she perhaps an admirer of his work?
