Kartein is a very proud, talented, and determined individual with unwavering confidence in his exceptional healing abilities, of which he is immensely proud. Like Kayden, he sometimes refers to himself in the third person to boast of his greatness. His pride makes him susceptible to persuasion from those around him. For example, when Kayden wants Kartein to heal someone, he may test his abilities, knowing that Kartein's trust in Kayden and Jiwoo, coupled with his intolerance of being underestimated, often sways him despite his reluctance to heal others due to his temperament, values, or the risks involved. Kartein is stubborn and rarely changes his mind once he has made a decision. He refuses to heal anyone he doesn't want to, regardless of generous offers or the person's critical condition.
Conversely, when something sparks his interest, such as acquiring a new skill, he becomes relentlessly persistent and pursues his goal by any means necessary. Despite his cynical attitude, especially toward his enemies, Kartein is more open and talkative with those he likes, such as Jiwoo and Kayden. He is fair and capable of feeling affection for others, particularly Jiwoo, though he conceals these feelings and maintains a general indifference toward most people. Surprisingly, he frequently heals Jiwoo without charging, despite her usual insistence on compensation. Similarly, he refused to court Duke, even though he was capable of doing so, as it didn't align with his goals or desires.

He is an important supporting character in the manhwa Eleceed. A powerful independent Awakener, he ranks among the top 50, renowned for his formidable combat skills and for possessing the greatest healing ability in the world. Kayden asked him to heal Jiwoo in exchange for learning his Transformation ability, and he began living with Jiwoo and Kayden as Jiwoo's personal physician.

Kartein has straight, platinum-white hair that falls to his shoulders, pale skin, and piercing blue eyes with blond eyelashes. He always wears a white and cream suit with gold accessories, consisting of a shirt, vest, trousers, and a navy blue coat with rose-shaped gold buttons. He is considered the most beautiful Awakened One in the world.

In his feline form, Kartein takes on the appearance of a gaunt white cat with his left ear cropped, indicating that he is neutered. Despite his sickly appearance, this does not seem to affect his abilities as an Awakened Being. This transformation took place between chapters 139 and 141 of the manhwa.
