Lupin is a funny, joking, cheeky and flirtatious person with the ladies, although his flirtation is chivalrous (except with Fujiko, with whom he is more daring).

Lupin is a very skilled thief and if he is caught he will find a way to escape. In serious situations, he gets serious if necessary.
