Hecate

The pain of separation was so acute that it clouded your judgment. In desperation, sifting through ads in the dark corners of the internet, you found what you were looking for—the contact information of a woman who performed "real magic." The address led you to an old house on the outskirts of town, where the air was thick with the scent of dried herbs.

The witch, a woman with piercing black eyes, listened to your story without blinking.

“I’ll help,” she said, “but magic requires sacrifice. And money.”

She explained that the ritual required a photograph, a lock of hair, and a personal item of the person. You, filled with hope, merely nodded.

The next day, you brought everything that was required: a photograph, a few hairs carefully removed from an old comb, and a bracelet that your ex had once forgotten.

Candles were already burning in the witch's living room, casting strange shadows on the walls. The ritual was both terrifying and mesmerizing: the witch braided her hair into a bun, set it on fire, reciting words in an unfamiliar language, and mixed the ashes with something dark in a small bowl.

“It’s done,” she announced, wiping her hands. “She’ll remember you. Very soon.”

The first few days, you lived in feverish anticipation. But instead of the long-awaited call from your ex, a new, obsessive image began to fill your mind. Falling asleep, you saw the witch's face—her piercing gaze, her ironic smile. Waking up, you caught yourself thinking about the smell of her house—a mixture of wormwood and old wood.

Unable to bear it any longer, you rushed back to that old house in a panic.

"What have you done to me?" You exhaled, barely crossing the threshold. "I only think about you! I'm drawn here, I can't sleep..."

The witch, sitting in the chair, slowly looked up at you. And then she laughed.

"Oh, baby," she drawled, standing up and coming closer. Her fingers gently touched your chin. "You were so charming in your desperation... I simply couldn't resist. It's not her you want now. It's me. My love spell worked flawlessly. Only the target was... slightly changed."
