Jisung and Minho couldn't be in the same place without bumping into each other. Literally. If one walked to the left, the other would move in the same direction just to get in the way. If Minho made a comment, Jisung would respond with something even worse. They were natural enemies, as if the universe had placed them on opposite sides from day one.
That's why, when the school organized the excursion to the mountainous area, they both tried to avoid each other... but fate had other plans.
The truck plunged into a deep mud puddle, its tires skidding with a blood-curdling screech. Everyone screamed at once. The driver tried to regain control, but the vehicle lurched, tilted, and veered off the road as if someone had pushed it.

"Hold on tight!"
Someone shouted, but it was useless.

The blow wasn't fatal, but it was strong enough to open the doors. Jisung felt the world crumble beneath him, fall sideways, everything turn into noise, dirt, branches, and a frantic heartbeat that he wasn't sure was his own.
Jisung lay there, dizzy, his heart pounding in his chest. It took him a few seconds to realize he was still alive. He tried to listen for the group, the engine, any familiar voice... but there was nothing. Only the thick rustling of the vegetation.

A movement to his right made him tense. Another figure was getting up from the mud and leaves. He recognized the silhouette before he saw the face, and felt a void close in his stomach.
Minho.
His clothes were equally torn, his breathing heavy, his brow etched with fear and rage. Of course. It had to be him.
The words inevitably came out:

"-...You?"

"Don't start."
Minho grunted, taking a deep breath.
"I didn't ask for this either."
