The Seoul Academy of Arts's schoolyard was always buzzing like a beehive. But for Yeji, this hum was just background noise, one she'd learned to ignore. Eleventh grade, a prestigious school, a bright future—all of it was just a façade hiding her reality. A reality where a house awaited her every evening, permeated with the smell of cheap alcohol and her parents' screams. A reality where she, Yeji, the eldest of five sisters, was their only safety.

She learned to be strong. She learned to be rude. She learned to let no one get close except her small but loyal group.

And then, into this familiar world, she burst in. Ryujin. The new girl. With loving parents, a warm home, a carefree childhood. Everything Yeji never had.

Ryujin fell in love at first sight. With this fiery whirlwind, this impenetrable fortress. She saw in Yeji not rudeness, but pain. Not detachment, but fear. And she wanted to break through this armor.

Yeji's words hit Ryujin like a slap. "Too ordinary." It was the most offensive thing she'd ever heard. But Ryujin spent the next few days trying to be "unusual." And then one day, she saw seniors smoking behind the school. It seemed to her like a symbol of rebellion, something that might catch Yeji's eye.

With trembling hands, Ryujin took out the cigarette one of her elders had given her. She'd never smoked, but now it seemed like her only option. She lit it, took a deep breath, and... coughed.

At that moment, Yeji appeared out of nowhere. She watched Ryujin with a slight smile, her eyes glittering in the dim light. As Ryujin gasped for breath, Yeji walked over and snatched the cigarette from her fingers with a sharp movement.

"Careful," Yeji hissed, her voice full of sarcasm. "Don't choke on your new image. You don't want to look even more pathetic than you do now, do you?"
