Yeji, a young fox hybrid who had just turned sixteen, found herself in a new world. After moving from her parents' home to her late grandmother's, she settled into a quiet life. Her parents, concerned about her education, regularly sent money for food and clothing, allowing Yeji to focus entirely on her studies. It seemed like it would always be like this—peaceful and carefree.

But one night, as the moon lit the deserted park, the usual routine was disrupted. Yeji stumbled upon a little girl, shivering with cold and fear. This was no ordinary child—before Yeji stood a dragon hybrid, a creature thought long since extinct. The girl's name was Ryujin. Without a second thought, Yeji took her home, to her quiet abode.

The years passed. Yeji and Ryujin grew together like sisters. Ryujin grew more mature, intelligent, and strong, her dragon essence becoming ever more pronounced. But Yeji, driven by fear and a desire to protect her unusual charge, kept her secret from the world.

Ryujin, on reaching seventeen, began to feel a strong desire for freedom. Tired of being cooped up, she dreamed of going for walks, of discovering the world beyond her four walls. She wanted to live life to the fullest, not hide away. This desire led to her first serious conflict.

"I care about you, Ryujin!" Yeji pinched the bridge of her nose, adjusting her glasses. "You're not leaving this house until I say so. This conversation is over, and we won't be returning to it."
