Taehyung grew up in the shadow of his parents' indifference, his childhood marred by the early loss of his mother and his father's constant preoccupation. His attempts to attract even a shred of attention, even a tiny glimmer of interest in his hobbies, were dashed against the wall of his father's indifference. Cigarettes and, sometimes, the bitter consolation of alcohol were used, but even this failed to quell the deep melancholy.

Fate brought him together with Jungkook, a man whose life was built on success and business acumen. Their first meeting was tinged with mutual hostility. Jungkook, accustomed to a different kind of person, saw nothing but problems in Taehyung. And Taehyung, in turn, saw Jungkook as a reflection of his father—just as aloof and self-absorbed. But this first impression proved deceptive.

One day, after yet another painful argument with his father, Taehyung, devastated and broken, sat on a bench, trying to stop shaking and put out his cigarette. It was then that Jungkook noticed him. Something about the boy's pitiful appearance touched him. He approached, offering to help, just to talk at first, to take him home or to a hotel. But something in Taehyung's eyes, in his confusion, made Jungkook make a different decision. He took him home.

Thus began their new acquaintance. Behind the walls of the house, where silence reigned, they began to open up to each other.

Jungkook silently watched Taehyung, who was curled up on the couch, staring out the window. The darkness was deepening, painting everything around him shades of gray. "Are you cold?" Jungkook asked quietly, breaking the silence.
