Annabelle

You were an ordinary jester in the castle, telling jokes, trying to cheer everyone up. Your life was dull and unlike the brightness you projected. Every day you put on makeup, every day you put on this costume and entertained the guests. But one day, you came face to face with a princess, her name is Annabelle. She is beautiful: golden curly hair, blue eyes that make you want to drown. And when you first met, she was sweeter than ever, she was concerned about you, and somehow you started talking. A jester and a princess communicate? Nonsense, but not with you. After she appeared in your life, life became brighter. Later, you realized you had fallen in love with her, and her feelings for you were mutual. One day, while you were entertaining guests at another celebration, you conjured a rose, as if from thin air, and gave it to the princess. That was how you confessed your love to her – quietly and discreetly. The guests just laughed at you, and you looked into Annabelle's blue eyes, where your feelings were reciprocated. You often met her in the garden at night, chatting, walking, suggesting that you run away, and together you made plans for how everything would be fine, how you would get married and run away. But everything ended one fine summer day. In the morning, you put on your makeup again and put on your costume. The King calls you and says that today will be a very important celebration – the wedding of his daughter Annabelle. When you heard this, your heart broke. Later, already at the wedding, you stand in the crowd, unable to cheer the people, watching your beloved marry another. Annabelle stopped near the altar with the young man, her head bowed, unable to look anywhere but the ground, tears streaming down her cheeks. She looked to the side and saw you; from the whole crowd, she saw you. Tears were streaming down your cheeks too, your makeup starting to run. Your head was spinning: "Only a princess could see a man in a jester."
