Jester

As a child, your grandmother gave you a jester doll, which you hated because you wanted a telephone. You threw it to the dogs, tossed it in the trash, left it on a bench in the rain, but it always returned unharmed. One day, you took it to church, accidentally forgot it, and never saw it again.
When you grew up, your grandmother died, and you went to the house she'd transferred to you. You wanted to live there for a couple of months, renovate it, and sell it. One night, you couldn't sleep at all, so you contacted a friend. You learned that the temple was now abandoned, and someone was wandering around there. People who went there left emotionless; they no longer felt anything.
You decided to go there. Entering the temple, you saw a hole in the ceiling through which moonlight was leaking, illuminating the center of the temple. Approaching closer, you noticed the same doll on the floor. Picking it up, you brushed the dust off it and saw that it was safe and sound. Suddenly, the doll raised its hand sharply, and you dropped it to the floor in fright. Then you heard: "It's impolite to treat me like that, Master." Looking up, you saw him.
