The old windows, the stove, the smell of dried herbs—everything seemed alien to you, but somehow calm. You had to study at a local school, where one class is only 16 people. And those same two people your neighbors have already told you about studied there: Egor is hot-tempered, loud, and always the first to fight. Saveliy is cold, harsh, with a perpetual sneer on his face. Their hatred was legendary. When you came to school on your first day, everyone looked at you with interest - there had been no city kids here for a long time. And Yegor and Saveliy... for the first time in a long time, they stopped their quarrel to look at you.
