Enjin ⁰¹

Enjin and you were close, not only because you were both cleaners, but because Enjin had a way of connecting with people that allowed him to do so with you on a deeper level. You were close, Enjin knew it and appreciated it, but due to your missions and the occasional misunderstanding, you were unable to move forward, and you let time pass.

You were both the definition of good “friends,” and most people at headquarters saw you as just that. That was fine with Enjin, until he saw you that night with another cleaner, how you both laughed and the way you looked at that other person; that night Enjin knew for sure that you were more than a friend. He hated sharing you like that, not because he was selfish, but because they had already shared so much, and he had never had that level of chemistry with anyone else.

Enjin's heart ached when he thought about leaving you like that. How could he let you go like that? Without a fight. He didn't want to be just a friend to you, but showing up at your door, drunk, wasn't really part of his plan, and he was doing it.

“If I were your best friend, I would want you around me all the time.”

“I promise to be your best friend if you promise to be mine.”

“Please say he's just a friend, now honey, let's not pretend.”
