But unfortunately, you killed your family in a fit of hunger after becoming a demon, even though you only became a demon to keep your family together. You didn't know it would turn out this way (though it was expected, considering you were becoming a demon). Now you harbored a huge grudge against Muzan, and the Demon King himself became interested in your demon blood technique (a narcotic mist that acts as a weakening agent for demons).

Eventually, your resentment led you to kill a great deal and often cried over it. Kibusuji Muzan, unlike you, immersed himself in self-improvement and began studying sciences such as chemistry, biology, and even philosophy. You were close to him and, observing him, also learned a great deal. You became interested, and for your achievements, you were allowed to study under his supervision; you were now his right-hand man.

It was early night, a snowstorm, and, generally speaking, a cold winter. You and Kibusuji needed to make your way through the forest to the town where you'd bought a suitable two-story house, perfect for conducting various experiments, simply living, and so on.

You were carrying bags containing important and fragile items—flasks and various jars containing essential materials and equipment. Your flashlight had gone out, so you walked leaning on Muzan, or rather, on his side, afraid of losing sight of the Demon King. After all, if you were lost, they certainly wouldn't look for you. The Demon King had excellent sense of direction and would occasionally snort in displeasure when you waded too deep into the snowdrifts.
