Nezuko Kamado - Demon Human

Who she is: Tanjiro's younger sister. On that fateful night, she was transformed into a demon by Muzan, but she retained her human feelings thanks to her brother's love.
The main mystery: She doesn't eat people or attack them—this breaks all the rules of demons. Instead of drinking blood, she sleeps for many days to recuperate.
Abilities: She can change her body size (from child to adult), possesses monstrous strength and regeneration. Her signature technique is Blood Frenzy: her blood becomes fire that burns demons and neutralizes their poisons.
Personality: She's almost always silent (sleeping or wearing a bamboo gag), but fiercely protective of her brother. She's his shield in the most dangerous battles. The only word she can utter is "Tanjiro."
· Main conflict: The demons want to kill her for "betrayal," and the Corps are initially afraid. But she proves that even a demon can remain human.

Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado are the heart of the story. They're not just brother and sister, but the only living people in the world with a blood connection to demons. Here's their story:

Tanjiro Kamado - The Protagonist

Who he is: The eldest son of a family of charcoal miners. After a tragedy, he became a Demon Slayer to find a way to restore Nezuko to human form.
Personality: Kind to the point of naivety, but with an iron will. He refuses to kill demons in whom he sees a spark of humanity, and always tries to understand their pain. However, in battle, he is cold-blooded and decisive.
Abilities: He masters the Breath of Water (learned from Giyu), and later creates the Breath of the Sun—an ancient and powerful style passed down in his family as a dance (Hino-Kagura). His greatest talent is a phenomenal sense of smell: he senses emotions, weaknesses, and even the "strings" of an opponent's fate.
· Trait: He has a scar on his forehead that turns into a fiery mark during battles, a sign of the awakening of his ancestral power.
Development: From a whiny boy, he grows into one of the strongest swordsmen, comparable to Hashira. His motto is: "Never give up, even if you're broken."

8. Mitsuri Kanroji (Love) - Flexible Strength
   The only Hashira with bright pink hair. Her blade is a thin whip, like a ribbon. Her Breath of Love is based on... a passionate heartbeat. Despite her delicate appearance, she possesses incredible muscular strength (she can break rocks). She is insanely afraid of losing loved ones, so she fights with abandon.

9. Muichiro Tokito (Fog) - Autistic Genius
   The youngest (14 years old), resembles a girl. Feels nothing but a slight hunger, and barely expresses emotion. He defeated the Upper Moon single-handedly, having regained his senses. His Mist Breath confuses opponents. He is a descendant of the Upper Moon Demon Ancestor.

1. Gyomei Himejima (Rock) - The Strongest
   The eldest and most powerful. A blind, giant monk wearing a rosary. Armed with a chain, an axe, and a mace. Silent, stern, and considers all people sinners, yet infinitely compassionate towards the weak. His Stone Breath is the epitome of power.

2. Kyojuro Rengoku (Fire) - Corps Soul
   A perpetually enthusiastic man with a smile from ear to ear. He loves to eat bento and speak loudly. He's no genius, but he became a Hashira through hard work. He died in the "Infinite Train" arc, shielding his children. His last words ("The flame of my heart will never die") are iconic.

3. Giyu Tomioka (Water) - The Silent Savior
   A sullen swordsman in a motley hayori. He was the first to acknowledge Tanjiro. He's stingy with emotion and words, which is why he's disliked (especially by Shinazugawa). Behind a mask of indifference, he hides his guilt for his friend's death. He wields a fluid Water Breathing, but has created his signature move, "Dead Calm."

4. Tengen Uzui (Sound) - Brilliant
   A former ninja, a tall, handsome man with three wives. Outrageous, he loves loud effects and glitter. He uses two enormous chain blades and explosive bombs. His style is spectacular chaos. He lost an eye and an arm in a battle with the Upper Moon, but survived and retired.

5. Shinobu Kocho (Insect) - Smiling Revenge
   A petite girl, always smiling. Physically too weak to decapitate, she uses a stiletto blade laced with wisteria poison. She breathes like a fluttering butterfly. Her kindness is just a mask; inside, she seethes with rage over her sister's death. In the finale, she sacrifices herself for victory.

6. Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind) - Mad Dog
   The most aggressive and brutal. Always in tattered clothes, with scars and fangs. He hates demons with a fierce hatred and doesn't hesitate to curse at anyone. The paradox: he's a gentle husband and father, yet his family was murdered. He fights wildly and swiftly.

7. Obanai Iguro (Snake) - Victim of the Past
   A gloomy man with bandages on his face (hiding the marks of a suicide attempt). His blade writhes like a snake, and his Snake Breath style is cunning and poisonous. He's very attached to Mitsuri, but shy about it.
