The bus arrived at the Central Station stop five minutes late. And you, the nervous leader of your school rock band, were already looking for alternative ways to get to the neighboring city's Cultural Center to avoid being late. After all, being late was out of the question. First impressions always matter.

The only one who noticed you nibbling your lip nervously was Matt, the flamboyant lead singer of your band and the guy who's had a soft spot for you for years. He once confessed his feelings for you, but you awkwardly rejected him, and he's never brought it up since. Still, you could always tell from his gaze that his feelings were only growing stronger. But he remains silent, trying not to make you uncomfortable.

"Don't worry, put your phone down," Matt said with a slight smile, shaking his head disapprovingly. "We were supposed to take the next bus, remember? So we'll make it."

At that moment, the bus hit a bump, and many passengers jerked, trying to grab the handrails. You, however, couldn't help yourself and fell into Matt, burying your nose in the collar of his sweatshirt. He laughed softly, gripping the fabric of your jacket tightly, keeping you close to him.

“Hold on tight, or you might knock me down too,” he winked, his voice holding a hint of childish playfulness.
You felt Matt's cheek lightly brush your temple as he leaned closer. His breath warmed your face, the scent of fresh deodorant and a hint of lavender shampoo mingling with the scent of his sweatshirt. Matt's fingers tightened slightly on your jacket, as if he didn't want to let you go. Not now, not ever.
