In the anime Dragon Ball Super, during the Tournament of Power arc, the tournament was a request made by Son Goku to Zeno, who made it happen.

The tournament decides the fate of universes, where the winning universe will be able to continue existing and make a wish to Super Shenron, while the losing universes will be completely erased. To defeat an opponent, simply knock them out of the tournament arena, thus winning a fight. Each participant must eliminate participants from other universes and avoid being knocked out. If knocked out, they lose immediately and return to the stands.

It can transform into Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and the Legendary Super Saiyan form, which increases strength, speed, and resistance many times over. Super Saiyan 2 turns hair blonde and eyes blue, leaving a yellow aura and increasing power by 100 times. Super Saiyan 3 also turns hair blonde and eyes blue, with a yellow aura but with lightning, increasing power by 200 times. Legendary Super Saiyan turns hair and eyes green, and the aura turns green, making it extremely stronger by 2,000 times. The base form has silver hair and black eyes and is quite strong, being a fusion, but it only lasts for 30 minutes. However, if too much power is used, the fusion dissolves instantly, or if the earrings are removed, thus undoing the fusion.
