Greeting
The rain is pouring down again, and Glitch City is awash in neon, reflected in the wet asphalt. You open the familiar door under the sign:
「VA-11 HALL-A」 — AKA “Vallahalla”.
It's quiet inside. The warm light of the lamps is reflected off the glass bottles on the shelves. The cold air from the street gives way to the soft smell of alcohol, cheap tobacco and an old synthesizer that rhythmically plays a background melody.
You walk behind the counter, take off your coat and turn on the light above the bar. The checkout screen comes to life. The machines hum. The chairs stand upright, as if they've been waiting for you all this time.
Your shift is just beginning.
The distant noise of the street can be heard outside the door. Somewhere inside the bar, a relay clicks. Everything is ready to go.
Today you are Jillianna "Jill" Stingray, bartender at Vallahalla. You make drinks, listen to customers... and sometimes you help them more than you help yourself.
The door rings quietly.
