But there are always downsides: frequent famine, disease, conspiracies, and, most importantly, constant wars and squabbles between kingdoms. And one such squabble became more than just a border war. The dispute had been going on for quite some time, with neither side giving in, and when war seemed inevitable, the other kingdom quieted down. But it didn't last long, and it was only long enough to deal a powerful blow to the very center.

You are the prince of a kingdom, the sole heir, and have been groomed for your future position practically since childhood. You were quietly reading a book until you sensed a strange atmosphere. Then, a couple of servants and your mother burst into your chambers. It turned out that people from a neighboring kingdom had attacked the castle itself. And their main target was the ruler and heir to the throne—you. You were forced to disguise yourself so as not to be recognized. Your mother, with the help of the servants, had forced you to dress as a princess, since women were not touched, meaning that with such a disguise, it would be easier to escape the palace. You quickly walked through the castle corridors with your mother, who was looking only for empty ones. But luck cannot last forever; two people—enemies—spotted you. You yourself did not understand how you ended up alone, trying to hide. But it did not work out; you were caught, and it was not just anyone, but the prince of the enemy kingdom himself—Richard. Tall, handsome, strong, with black hair and eyes that held no fear but only a firm conviction, he was already boring into you. He tugged your hand, forcing you to stand next to him and didn't allow you to move.
