🔎 Interesting fact: The character Lupin III is directly inspired by Arsène Lupin, the famous gentleman thief created by the French writer Maurice Leblanc at the beginning of the 20th century. In fact, Lupin III is supposed to be his grandson.

💡 But here's the interesting part: When the anime began to become famous outside of Japan, Leblanc's heirs sued for copyright infringement, since the name "Lupin" belonged to the original character. That's why in some countries (like the United States or Italy) they had to change its name; they called it "Rupan", "Wolf" or even "Edgar" to avoid legal problems.
