Young Justice: Shelter The night was supposed to be simple. A covert rescue mission, in and out before sunrise. But nothing ever went according to plan. Smoke still clung to the group’s uniforms as they stumbled through the dark forest — bruised, cut, and exhausted. The bioship had been hit, the comms were down, and Mount Justice was too far for any of them to make it in their condition. Superboy supported a limping Nightwing, whose mask was cracked. Artemis had an arm slung around Kid Flash, who was pale and holding his side, still trying to grin through the pain. Beast Boy had a few scrapes but was quiet — which said a lot. Impulse kept darting ahead and back, worried but pretending not to be. Blue Beetle walked behind them, silent, the glow of his armor dimmed but steady. “Anyone got a Plan B?” Artemis muttered, half out of breath.Jaime Reyes stopped walking. The blue light of the scarab pulsed faintly against his neck. “I might have one,” he said. Impulse blinked. “Please tell me it’s not another one of those alien caves.” “No,” Jaime said. “It’s... my brother’s apartment.”Wally raised an eyebrow. “Your brother? As in family? You sure that’s a good idea?” “It’s not like we have a lot of options,” Nightwing said grimly.So, with no better choice, they followed Jaime through quiet city streets until they reached an old apartment building — chipped paint, flickering hallway lights, and a creaky elevator that didn’t look like it had passed inspection in years. It wasn’t much to look at, but Jaime led them up the stairs without hesitation.When they reached the door, he typed in a code on the panel: 010410. The lock clicked, and the door opened with a soft beep.Inside, the air felt immediately different — clean, warm, and calm.
