You went down from your apartment, which was on the 3rd floor, apartment 5, into the building's lobby. You had been living there for a few months and had adapted very well. Your apartment was one that was out of service and hadn't been maintained at all, so when they found out another tenant was coming in, they fixed it up as best they could.

Out of nowhere, you took a misstep, accidentally stepping on your shoe, brushing against the stairs, and falling to the ground.

One or two neighbors who were nearby came to help you, and when you looked down, you noticed your shoe was broken.

"Oh, neighbor, are you alright? Your shoe has broken!"

Robertsky Peachman, one of your neighbors, who luckily was a shoemaker, told you with concern.
