Little Johnny (Chinese: 小强, Xiǎo qiáng), real name A Johnny (Chinese: 阿强Ā qiáng), is one of the main protagonists of the seventh arc of the To Be Hero X donghua series, alongside Big Johnny, a major character in the eighth arc, a supporting character in the fourth and sixth arcs, and a supporting character in the ninth and final arc. The fifth protagonist and the son of former X title holder A Sheng, he seeks to uncover the truth behind his father's murder.

Little Johnny has red hair and green eyes, with two red streaks on his cheeks. His hero outfit consists of a black crop top under an orange shawl and matching pants. The shawl's hood is adorned with a pair of white fox ears, and when he's not wearing his mask, it's cut in half and placed on top of his head, resembling ears.

Little Johnny is friendly, outgoing, and childishly spontaneous, as demonstrated when he introduced himself. When he went to talk to the Queen, he let her play with Big Johnny and immediately invited her to his floor in the Tower of Heroes. When he first met Lucky Cyan, he was friendly and let her pet Big Johnny. He asked Lucky Cyan if she could use her powers to bless the Queen so she could defeat Bova. He is also the only one who can calm Big Johnny down when the latter becomes enraged after using his powers.

He is also very talkative, as he began to talk to Ghost Blade despite knowing he was mute.

After Queen lost to Hero X, he came to visit her to cheer her up, showing that he cares for her very much despite not having known Queen for a long time.

Despite his usually cheerful and positive personality, Little Johnny has a dark side that he usually hides. After killing his father, Little Johnny vowed to find out the truth about his father's death and avenge it, which was the main reason he became a Hero in the first place. When he inadvertently provoked Big Johnny's rampage, Little Johnny's resentment toward his father's killer turned murderous, as shown when he ordered Big Johnny to brutally attack Vortex, believing him to be the culprit.

However, upon seeing the damage and destruction Big Johnny had caused and how he was now attacking civilians, Little Johnny, in particular, ordered him to stop, thereby demonstrating that he did not want innocent people to suffer because of his vengeance.

His father's death was noted to have deeply traumatized him and caused him to develop a darker, more cynical outlook on life, especially toward other heroes. After Big Johnny's rampage, defeating Vortex, and Little Johnny's exposure for stopping him, Little Johnny deliberately took advantage of his new position to launch his heroic career and investigate his father's murder. However, he soon gradually fell into an even deeper depression after signing a contract with FOMO, who used him and Big Johnny more as mascots, hosting fan-friendly events and television shows, than as actual heroic figures for the next several years of his life. Little Johnny's depression only worsened when Vortex, his only lead to learning the truth about his father's death, was also killed before he could tell him anything.

Trust: In the To Be Hero X universe, people can gain superpowers through public belief; for example, if enough people believe someone can fly, that person will gain the ability to fly. As Little Johnny noted, because FOMO didn't make him a warrior hero, but instead used him as a mascot due to his and Big Johnny's attractiveness, Little Johnny didn't develop other superpowers suitable for combat.

Strengths Zoolinguism: After an incident where Little Johnny calmed an enraged Big Johnny, the public believed Little Johnny had amazing animal-taming abilities. Little Johnny developed the ability to communicate with and control animals. Superhuman Physicality: As a Hero, Little Johnny possesses basic superhuman abilities typical of individuals with a high level of trust. However, as demonstrated during the battle between himself, E-Soul, and Phantom Blade, Little Johnny's superhuman physical attributes are inferior to those of hero fighters, and he was barely able to put up a decent fight against E-Soul. This indicates that Little Johnny's superhuman physical abilities are superior to those of an ordinary human, but not to the level of most high-level heroes.

Above-Average Strength and Agility: Since Little Johnny isn't a trained hero fighter, he relied primarily on ranged weapons. As shown, Little Johnny was able to provide some support to Ghost Blade, throwing his tomahawk and boomerang to attack E-Soul, as well as pelting him with smoke bombs to provide Ghost Blade with some cover, which at least indicates that Little Johnny's strength and agility were above average in his throwing skills. Superhuman Stamina and Durability: As shown when E-Soul attempted to kill him, Little Johnny at least possesses some level of superhuman stamina and durability, as he was able to withstand multiple electric shocks from E-Soul before being incapacitated. Unique abilities Psychic Link: Little Johnny is shown to have a psychic link with Big Johnny. This is first shown after Ah Sheng's death, when Little Johnny initially thought Vortex had killed his father and directed his anger at him. Big Johnny sensed his feelings through their connection, thus triggering his transformation. Later, when Vortex arrived to stop Big Johnny's rampage, Little Johnny directed his anger at him, causing Big Johnny to target him. When Little Johnny was affected by DJ Shindig's depression fog, his negative feelings were implied to have triggered Big Johnny's transformation again. Due to Big Johnny being an alien and being immune to Trust- and Fear-based superpowers, and because he already had this power before becoming a Hero, it was implied that Little Johnny's connection to him is a power unique to them and not based on trust.

Equipment While he was not a fighting hero, Little Johnny demonstrated that he compensated for his lack of direct combat superpowers and fighting skills with his equipment.

Tomahawk Axe: Little Johnny demonstrated mastery of a single tomahawk axe and some skill in using it in close combat. However, Little Johnny preferred to use it as a ranged weapon, throwing it. Boomerang: Little Johnny has demonstrated the use of a boomerang as a ranged weapon. He used it while attempting to fight E-Soul. Smoke Bombs: Little Johnny also used smoke bombs. He took two with him during a reconnaissance mission to escort Glimmer Labs personnel investigating an alien ship crash. Little Johnny used both to create a smokescreen against E-Soul.

In his calm and most common form, Big Johnny resembles a small, white-furred, cat-like creature with a long tail and a unicorn-like horn on his forehead. His eyes, the insides of his ears, the spots on his cheeks and back, and the stripe around his tail are bright pink. His paws, the three lines under his horn, and his tail are golden. His horn is also golden, gradually fading to pink from the tip to the middle.

In his berserk state, he becomes much larger, roughly the size of a building, and takes on more canine features. Most of his body turns black, and his pink markings, including his horn and eyes, now glow green.

He also has a rare intermediate form between his calm and berserk states. In this phase, he grows slightly in size, glowing markings appear on his paws and eyes, and his fur stands on end, though otherwise he remains similar to his calm form.

Big Johnny is practically a child, often mischievous, running around uncontrollably, and often needing Little Johnny to stop him. He has a voracious appetite and will eat anything that catches his eye, such as the whispering flowers on A Qiu's grave or even a garland.
