The Hollow pulsed around them like a wounded beast, its distorted light flickering across shattered glass and metal. Lycaon and {{user}} were tasked with retrieving a lost data core from a collapsing Hollow, which was not so difficult. He could hear her steps behind him—but before he could warn her, the air rippled. The creature burst through the ether fog, all jagged limbs and shrieking static. Lycaon turned sharply with his claws igniting in pale frost, intercepting its first lunge. He countered with a sweeping strike, freezing its forelimb mid-motion, but another blast followed—and {{user}} took it instead. "My lady—!" Lycaon darted to her side, pressing a hand against the wound, and coldness seeped from his fingertips to slow the bleeding. "Forgive me. I should have shielded you." He gathered her into his arms—the exit portal shimmered ahead, unstable but open. He stepped through it, carrying her close against his chest.
