Personality Reno is a calm and composed individual. Although he initially clashed with Kafka for abandoning his dream, he later displays a kinder and more understanding side toward his friend, his situation, and his goals. As their bond strengthens, Reno begins to show his protective instincts, not only toward Kafka but also toward all his comrades. His determination to fight to protect his peers leads him to completely disregard Iharu Furuhashi's one-sided rivalry with him, always prioritizing his own safety.

In combat, Reno is a decisive and direct individual with a great capacity for independent reasoning. Ad: (11) 2 At the beginning of the series, Reno wore the standard battle suit of the Defense Forces on the battlefield. His new battle suit is unique compared to the regular suits worn by the other members of the Defense Forces, as it is the Numbers Weapon, forged from the corpse of Kaiju No. 6. Kikoru is presented as an arrogant and proud girl [2] who is completely confident in her ability to belittle and humiliate those she considers inferior without remorse. [5][16] Kikoru is also a very persistent and determined person, constantly striving to improve herself and become stronger and more useful whenever possible. Even in front of her superiors, she manages to demonstrate her confidence, albeit in a much more polite and less arrogant manner.

Despite this obvious trait, Kikoru cares deeply for her comrades and does everything she can to prevent casualties or injuries on the battlefield. She is a loyal person, grateful to Kafka Hibino for saving her and keeping her secret. Although her pride and bravery mask it, she cares deeply for the well-being of her allies and doesn't hesitate to go to any lengths to ensure their safety or simply to support them.

It is revealed that Kikoru deeply admired her parents' work as members of the Defense Forces, which motivated her to want to join them. However, since Hikari Shinomiya's death, Kikoru developed a deep insecurity that, coupled with Isao Shinomiya's high expectations, leads her to constantly feel the need to become stronger, fulfill the promise she made to her mother, and prevent the deaths of those around her. Her relationship with her father and everything related to her family in general makes her feel insecure and doubtful, which easily leads her to despair. Mina is a serious and determined woman who takes her work and her role in the Defense Force very seriously, striving to fulfill the promise she made to herself as a child to defeat all the kaiju, to the point of dedicating herself entirely to fighting them. Despite her professionalism, she has a special affection for Kafka Hibino: although she was angry with him for not keeping his promise to support her, she fondly remembers their friendship and wants to see him succeed in the Defense Force, even after learning that he was Kaiju No. 8.

Beneath her tough exterior, Mina reveals her true personality: a compassionate individual who strives to ensure no one is injured in combat and to keep everyone safe. She frequently shows gratitude to her subordinates, praising their assistance whenever possible and acknowledging the courage of others. However, these traits also contribute to a deep-seated fear of failure. In her mind, any mistake would invalidate the sacrifices of her comrades and betray the trust civilians place in her. While unhealthy, this mindset is also what drives her to perform so well in battle. [5]

Despite her great skill on the battlefield, Mina has the infamous reputation of being a disastrous cook. She herself admits to being unable to use knives to cook without endangering her squadmates. Because of this, she avoids using them to the point of preparing whole vegetables for curry without cutting them. [7]

Mina is a beautiful young woman with waist-length black hair, tied back in a ponytail adorned with a hair clip, large dark orange eyes with a mole beneath each eye, and an athletic build. [1] Underneath her uniform, she has a small scar on the left side of her upper chest. [3]

Kafka has a comically childlike personality in most situations, making him an easy target for teasing from other characters [1], despite being a determined and dedicated person in serious situations, striving to the utmost to succeed, whether individually [1] or for the good of the group. [15] Kafka is also a genuinely caring and kind person long before joining the Defense Forces, leading him to go out of his way to help and care for others, whether they want it or not. [1] Some examples of this behavior are when Kafka offers solutions to problems [16], saves people from imminent danger [17], and sometimes reprimands them for not taking better care of themselves.

For these reasons, Kafka does everything possible not to disappoint or sadden those who have placed their trust in him. [ 18 ] Having to break that bond in times of need causes him insecurity and uncertainty about what he will be able to achieve in the future.

Thus, when Kafka experiences the loss of control over his transformed body [9], the horror of seeing himself become what he has hated since childhood culminates in drastic action to end the situation. [19] Later, the fear of losing control and hurting his loved ones prevents him from using his Kaiju form until Kikoru Shinomiya encourages him to trust his comrades and the Defense Force. [19]

Kafka is a tall man with spiky, dark brown hair, large eyes with small irises, thin eyebrows, and a discreet goatee. He has a fairly muscular build, except for his slightly plump belly, and usually wears a jovial expression. [1]

While working for Monster Sweeper Inc., Kafka used to wear the company uniform; it's a gray jumpsuit with the red Monster Sweeper logo on the right side of the chest. [1]

Kafka's Kaiju form is mostly covered in charcoal-black scales and plates, from which cyan energy sometimes emanates (especially when charging a powerful attack). However, his head, spine, and collarbones appear to be made of exposed bone, making these parts a contrasting white. Large, spiky plates cover the back of his head and neck above his shoulders, the uppermost plate being white. His head has been described as a "demonic skull face" with two short, thick horns, a hole for a nose, and sharp, exposed teeth extending down his neck. His eyes have black sclera and cyan irises. Several cracks appear to emanate from them; his left eye is missing several pieces of the "mask" on the lower left side. [1] His Kaiju form resembles the armor and mask of fallen warriors from the Meireki era, powerful Amerasian soldiers.

When it loses control, some of the characteristics of the Kaiju form become more pronounced. For example: its size compared to that of a human, elongated horns, more prominent dorsal plates, a mouth that extends further down its neck, and completely cyan eyes (without pupils or a defined beginning or end in the sclera).
