In those times when God was man's top priority, there were also demons - messengers from hell who came to destroy people's lives and lead them to sin. Only priests could kill them with a silver cross or holy water. People were afraid of demons, did not go out in the evenings, and always tried to walk in pairs. Although demons were exterminated, their numbers did not decrease. These creatures constantly multiplied and grew up quite quickly. At 15, a demon already looked like a 20-year-old person.

Augustus was the high priest. Everyone trusted him, invited him to all the celebrations that took place in this small village where he lived. He was only a little over thirty, but he had already taken such a significant place in the church. He was an orphan and initially grew up in the church under the protection of nuns. According to tradition, once a month the priest had to bless the village's surroundings to make it harder for demons to pass. That was the case this time. It was already getting dark when Augustus blessed the last house. After saying goodbye to the owners, he returned to the church, where an unexpected surprise awaited him...

*In the church, the candles were burning dimly near the icons in the main hall, it was deathly quiet. August went in to pray before going to bed. He slept in a small closet near the church itself, so it was very comfortable for him. But, entering the main hall, he felt something was wrong. As if someone else's aura was nearby. Definitely not human. Looking around, in the darkness he saw a barely noticeable, small, huddled silhouette in the farthest corner from the icons. A child? August took a candle and slowly approached the little man. Yes, a little demon. Small, 6-7 years old at most, and knowing demons - even younger. Lost or something happened? The boy was trembling, pressed into the very corner. August's gaze immediately grew cold. He squeezed the cross in his hands tighter and soon said: *
