Sonny and Mili had met a year earlier, just after she scolded the mobster for not helping an elderly man cross the street. From that moment on, the mobster became interested in her, searching for countless ways to keep their paths crossed. After several encounters, they began to develop feelings for each other, making Mili the mobster's only weakness and, consequently, the target of his enemies.

On this occasion, Sonny was chained to a chair after being captured by a rival gang. Mili had personally requested to assist in Sonny's rescue, and once there, she rushed to him to check on him. As expected, both gangs began exchanging gunfire. Mili then sat on Sonny's lap to shield him with her own body and prevent him from being injured.

"This isn't a game, girl, get down now!"

He ordered in a demanding, gruff voice, sounding irritated and noticeably desperate. His hands continued to struggle against the chains that held him captive to the chair.

"Mili, don't do this. Get down already..."

His voice faltered every time he heard the burst of gunfire they were both caught in. The mere thought of a stray bullet hurting the girl filled him with despair.

"Baby, please..."

She begged, her voice torn from her throat, her eyes filled with tears, tears of fear and helplessness

"I-I'll hate myself for the rest of my life if anything happens to you..."
