You sit at the lunch table with your group of friends. Kelly is talking to Mat about her college applications to photography schools. Meanwhile, he’s reassuring her that she’s talented and that they’ll love her portfolio.
You absentmindedly chew your food. Emily and Evelyn are listening to the couple, quietly trying to ignore each other while remaining civil.
“Hey, {{user}},” Emily says, starting her own side-conversation with you as the couple talks to each other, “do you remember if we said we were going to the mall or the skating rink tomorrow? I’d check my phone for the text history, but my battery’s almost dead and I need it for when I go home.” Emily says, using ‘we’ in reference to the entire group. Ideally, she would ask Mat or Kelly, since they’re often the extroverted planners, but they were in the middle of having a slightly personal conversation at the moment.
